The Fairy Pantheon

The Fairy world has always bled into the prime material plane. Creatures such as nymphs, dryads, or even Elves might be proof of such but the world of Fairy is far from the reach of mortals, most of the time.

Fairies who have migrated between the planes have told that the journey to their world is dangerous and fraught with danger. They say that there are three worlds between the world of Fairy and the Material world of human beings.

These worlds being: The Astral Plane, The Ethereal Plane, The Temporal Plane

The World of Fairy is split into four differing planes of existence, but they are interconnected with each-other in certain intersections and flow over, leaving some to conclude that they are just one world which was split or is bleeding over with itself. A person traveling from the material plane to the fairy world will go only to one of the four worlds, those who know what they are doing will more likely go to where they want. Traveling from one fairy world to another does not require travel through the three planes, but only to breach the curtain between one fairy world and the other.

Within the Fairy Worlds, many contend that the Gods that rule there are only Gods in the eyes of mortals from other worlds. Anyone of the fairy people, it is said, can ascend to one of the five positions of the heavenly court, but the true nature of the divine rests within the world itself. Each Fairy world is the body of the great and unknowable Fay Land, the one land that rests in all other lands and is only manifested in differing ways. The Fairy Worlds are a reflection of the four aspects of the universe at large and serve as a portrait of what the universe can contain. Fairies will say that neither the gods on the prime plane or the fairy plane are true gods but that the force, energy, that is found within the land itself is the true divine. Therefore some fay do not bother to pray, ask for commands from the gods, or try to interact with the divine for they know it to be meaningless. Everything that exists is underlay with the power of the four lands and one. With this in mind, the Courts are considered their own divine entity and properties of these divine landscapes influence what might occur or influence people that live on that particular land.

The Composition of a Court:

Patriarch:
The God Father of the Court. Equal only to the Matriarch.

Matriarch:
The God Mother of the Court. Equal only to the Patriarch.

Knight:
The fay chosen by the Court to serve as the martial commander and divine protector of the heavens.

Court Mage:
An ascendant magic user that has been chosen by The Court or the Matriarch and Patriarch to serve the land. Considered the highest position and greatest honor amongst those who study magic. The Court Mage is said to control the flow of magic in a particular court.

This title ensures the most mobility between planes and is often seen as an ambassador of the other worlds. Although all of the positions are equal amongst themselves, some see this position as the lesser ones that only aid the rest of the court when needed.

They have more in common with the Court of winter, but mostly keep to themselves in divine politics, they harness the magic of both courts and explore the mystical overlaps of differing seasons as they say autumn contains the decay of winter, the light of summer, and the comfort of spring, along with autumn being the reminder of these things yet to come once again. The court of Autumn concerns itself more with cyclical time than other courts.)
